Your Garden Room

with Battenberg

We work hand in hand with you to design, build and hand over the garden room of your dreams. Below, we have outlined the typical high-level process from the first idea to the finished product.

Design

Starting with thorough look at your garden, a checklist and a measuring tape, we assess your space, requirements and budget to advise you on what is possible and develop and agree on a design for your garden room.

Build

After settling on a final design, we source quality materials to build your garden room step by step - from the ground screw foundation, floor and walls to the roof, windows and doors and the interior finish.

Handover

Following completion of the build, we double check everything to ensure the build quality and finish are up to our high standards and hand over your garden room for you to use and enjoy for many years to come.

How we design and build your garden room

Our approach to garden rooms builds on a combination of tried and tested standards and customisable elements to ensure a finished build that both fulfills our high standards and serves your needs and budget requirements.

Ground screw foundation

All of our garden rooms rely on a strong, flexible and sustainable ground screw foundation. They can support a lot of weight while being a lot less intrusive and finite than a concrete slab which covers a portion of your garden. Also, they can level out a certain amount of slope without the need to dig and level before they build. Finally, ground screws are a lot more garden and wildlife-friendly than concrete.

Timber frame construction

We trust in a sturdy timber frame construction for the floor, walls and roof, covered by OSB, breathable membrane and cladding to the outside and a vapour barrier and plasterboard on the inside. Both the type of roof covering (roofing sheets, rubber roof, tiles etc) - and insulation type and levels inside the walls and roof (PIR, foil, wool) can be customised based on your needs and budget.

Interior

Based on your requirements, we are happy to add interior walls and doors, different flooring options - including elaborate engineered wood herringbone patterns - and more as needed. We also work with trusted partners to fulfill your requirements in terms of electricity (lighting, sockets etc) and plumbing.

Finishing touches

All finishing touches, such as window and door types and colours, interior paint, cladding type, material and colour, fascia and soffit design, guttering, skirting etc are discussed in details during the desing process to ensure we build a space you love and aligned with your budget.
